"Election Night Projections" Tuesday, November 2 Gallery 1360 On Tuesday evening, November 2nd, Chris Basmajian will be projecting 2 interactive videos in a vestibule in front of Gallery 1360 in San Francisco, capturing the images of Mission Street pedestrians on election night as the polls are about to close. This installation explores themes of money, mayhem, and madness, reflecting the concerns, issues, and emotional climate of this election season. Incorporated into the real-time images of pedestrians will be imagery from Thomas Nast, a 19th century political cartoonist; John Tenniel, the 19th century illustrator of Alice in Wonderland fame; and Albrecht Durer, the Renaissance printmaker known for his Apocalypse woodcuts. Gallery 1360 is located at 1360 Mission Street, between 9th and 10th, San Francisco, California. Projections will begin at dusk.
